After developing and deploying cloud-based services for several years, we discovered Docker last year. It has revolutionised our development process. Our very small team can now develop full systems on our laptops, and easily deploy to any of the many docker hosting platforms with confidence in reliability. This keeps our overheads very low, but productivity very high.
Into our docker containers we put Apache, Python, Django, Numpy, Pandas and a few other useful software libraries. These form the application backend. We implemented the front-end by integrating a number of free JavaScript libraries which have business friendly licenses.
